Every year new stars are born at the New York Fashion Week. This is an exceptional platform where people are given a rare opportunity to showcase their talent. On the 9th of September, 2017 at the Academy of Art University, the 21stbi-annual Fashion Show was held at Skylight Clarkson Square. A total of 7 (2 menswear and 5 women’s wear) new wear were introduced by a team of 10 recent MFA and BFA graduates.

The Academy of Art College is a privately owned, non –profit School of Fashion that is based out of San Francisco, California, USA. The school was founded in 1929 by Richard S Stephens as the College of Advertising Art. It’s estimated that the school has a total of 12,600 students, 1,154 and 283 part-time and full-time teachers respectively. Currently, the college is said to be the largest privately owned school of art in the US.

The Academy’s main role is helping gifted students showcase their exceptional talent to the world. Richard S Stephens believes that there are many professional artists and designers out there who need someone to point them in the direction. The Academy has become a part of the New Fashion Week event since 2005.

Recently, the Academy took part in the 21st bi-annual New York Fashion and did extremely well. A good number of the students from the University managed to showcase their designs and won various awards.

What amazed the audience is the knowledge and ideas that this team shared. Most of them come from different cultures, including China and Coastal Maine. Great people like Ms. J Alexander and Sara Kozlowski were actually impressed.

It took a lot of hard work, sacrifice, dedication, and perseverance to design and showcase the amazing designs that was experienced on the 9th of September. They took the 15 minutes given to them to present their work efficiently to the world, potential mentors and even their peers.
